Any solutions for flickering stage lights for music shows? I’ve shot in 1/60, 1/50 and had flicker on both. Only was able to really get away without flicker if I shot 1/40
thanks bro for the video..really helpful!
Exactly what I needed, thanks 😃
ALSO – u need to explain some old strip lighting will ALWAYS cause strobing – whatever you do
I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU EXPLAINING THIS STUFF SO SUCCINCTLY !!!!! AWESOME JOB !!!!! INTERESTING TO BOOT. I HAVE SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED THIS VID BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOD.
I dont get it I live in a PAL country and every light is okey whetever i use 25/50/100 FPS or switch to NTSC with 24/30/60/120 my kitchen light flicker around like crazy even if I break the 180° SR. For example I use 25FPS/50SS Still flicker/25/40 25/60 Still there I don't get it.
Which is better for ntsc 24 fps 1/60 or 30 fps 1/60. The 30 doesn’t break the rule 1/2x
Does your computer monitor do 50hz or 60hz? That would affect the playback of your footage.
My Lumix S5Miix also has a 24Hz CINEMA system frequency mode, can anyone help me understand what that means & if I can use it without as much math in both NTSC & PAL countries? 😆
Uh what do I do if I cannot adjust shutterspeed on my camera? On my phone?
Many earlier cameras didn't offer 1/50 in NTSC mode, and vice versa. I think that's where this whole confusion comes from. You had to switch to PAL mode to even get the 1/50 shutter option.
thanks, very informative, now fak you.
great content!
👍👍👍👍
These tips are valid. However, there is another way… Buy good led bulbs 🙂 Those that have a proper AC to DC converter will not flicker. On any settings. And if you buy a studio lighting you will never ever see this effect on any camera settings 🙂
I see subtle skipped or missing frames in 25 or 50 fps videos on a PC screen from YouTube. The screen refresh is 60Hz, and therefore 25 or 50 do not divide evenly into the screens refresh rate.
Hey Joris! Nice video, thank you! I have a question, Does that apply to horizontal black bands going up in the video? or just that flicker from your video. Because that type of flicker can be resolved with deflicker in post, right? But i'm having a hard time finding solution for fixing in post the horizontal black bands… 🙁 any tips?
I know it works, but wouldnt shooting 60fps and using 1/50 …. is too slow?!
Nice video. How about DJI drones for example to avoid the flickering’ any suggestions?
i change shutter speed to 1/50th at 30fps ?
I really love your videos!!! You're helping me out like a loooot!!!
