100 megabits per second. Yes. It’s fast. But is it fast enough? Modern modems are capable of handling speeds of several gigabits per second, and many of our connections are going up to and even beyond a gigabit per second. So does a hundred megabits cut it anymore? We’re digging into the world of ISPs (Internet Service Providers) starting with the basics of internet speed.

Replace your 500Mbps with 50Mbps I bet you will see NO difference. 95% of American homes will function just fine. These devices smart doorbells, thermostats etc use Kbps NOT Mbps.
i'm in the uk and my area was recently connected up to fibre to the home and i took the slowest and cheapest contract 100mb saving me money over my previous supplier "up to" 76mbs which was more than fast enough anyway. there is another company digging up the area to lay another service. must be plenty of money in supplying broadband….
I had a friend brag about how he was one service below business class internet all just to play modern warfare. Seeing this video reminds of how much money we waste on meaningless digital speeds “above a certain mbps”
I recently changed from 500mbps to 50mbps and found no difference I tested playing 3 4k vids at the same time and still had some speed. Most of it is marketing trying to get people to pay more and folk always think oh faster is better. In uk BT cost more than some other providers but it does keep it's speed promise.
Shit dude, I stream with a hotspot running off an AT&T cellphone which gets anywhere from 5-10 mbps upload speed and my streams look clearer than some people's with 5 times that speed. I usually set my bitrate anywhere from 2400 to 3400 depending on what I'm trying to stream and the streams look and sound just fine. You don't need a million mbps upload speed to have a decent stream. 4k is for snobs. 1080p or even 720p is absolutely fine and looks great. Most people's phones and televisions can't even display 4k. I don't even get the need for 4k. I still play PS1 and PS2 on a CRT with S-video and it looks great to me. If I want super clear display, I just switch to emulation and upscale. High speed internet isn't even offered where I live. We have DSL internet for the house and it's slow as hell and not viable for streaming literally anything. Can't be done. The DSL upload speed is right at 0.5 mbps. 😂
I used to have 5mbps and now i have 500mbps and then switched to 5GBps
100 mbps
100 Mbps
Two different worlds.
I was wondering if 9mbps upload and 1mbps download speed was bad, and we’re paying $250 per month for basic cable+internet. No wonder movies are all pixelated.
For 2 years i have fiber i get 30 mbps and ppl be complaining about 100mbps?
What I was able to stream in 4k on all the streaming apps with a 15mp speed. You tube is the only one that gave me trouble I had to view you tube in 1440P
youre upload speed thats what really matters. even if youre download speed 100 mbps but upload 2mbps like I have . you cant stream
100 Mbps feels very low these days, .300 would be better i guess?
I got 60 Mbps and i have no problems. AppleTV4K runs properly and HiRes-Audio-Streaming is possible. The Prices per Month of my InternetProvider: 60 Mbps = 35 CHF, 100 Mbps = 49 CHF, 200 Mbps = 59 CHF, 500 Mbps = 59 CHF and 10 Gbps = 79 CHF! This is stupid expensive. More important for me is good WLAN at home. I rather pay more money for a good router. Greetz from 🇨🇭 Sorry for my bad english.
We have 100mbps with 5 ppl constantly streaming and other things connected. It suits us fine
Porn💀
I have 0.5 mbps, seeing other's internet speeds in the comment section blows my mind.
Thank you
Thanks for providing such an easy to understand video. I was browsing isp’s for future use and am admittedly not the most tech savvy millennial.
I had 50mbs fibre for 2 years was happy with it upgraded to 100mbs and now im very happy 😂 its super fast
hi I'm from Australia I've been struggling with gaming and streaming at the same time would 250mbps download speed and 22 upload speed be enough I would be grateful for a response love the content keep up the great work 👼
We all have PTSD when we heard that dial up sound
I cum happenis when my Internet gets to 3mbs
Dude you guys are lucky you get a lot of mbs while me being happy with getting 1😊
Where i live 100mbps is god tier worth 300$ a month in a bill and 50mbps is 200$ a month its a rip off here because we dont even have internet providers who can supply steady rates of each those speeds you get 50mbps its really just a semi boosted 20mbps service….
I only have 5 mbit/s
laughed at the streaming services joke good one
What ulis Faster at&t 100mbps or Xfinitys 1gb??
