Something weird is happening on my latest video that published about 21 hours ago. At first my stats were awesome. Great click-through, great audience engagement, but something weird is going on with the analytics. I have over 8 minutes of retention on a 16 minute video, so by my calculation this is over 50%. But the calculated percentage is 5.7%. There is no graph yet, as this video is too fresh. What is distressing me is that YouTube is now treating this video like is has 5.7% retention. Impressions have slowed to a trickle over the last few hours despite by Browse click through being 9.9%, and an avg watch time of 8 minutes on this vid. Any idea what might be happening?

So a larger amount of views equals a spike in subscribers which happens to any channel, and fewer views you also gain a lot of subscribers? What? What is the advice here, your not telling us advice on how to get more views and your not giving advice on how to get more watch time. All you said is, "a lot of views is good, and a video with little views is good too." Also as I stated earlier, a large number of views does equal a lot of subscribers, literally look at any youtuber's analytics. Second of all of course your watch time will go down with a large number of views since the analytics is taking information from more people than a video with less views, basically common since. You don't even know your audience since you even said that you had a million views like everyone here watching video is thinking how relatable that is. I'm certain that anyone gaining hundreds of thousands of views doesn't need advice. Your advice is laughably bad and the fact that youtube is promoting this garbage shows how out of touch youtube is to it's smaller creators. All youtube does anymore is favor the algorithm to drama focused content when it could be promoting smaller creators.
