7,000 views. Now you get 1M or hundred of thousands of views on some videos
Honestly I think just knowing that just because my videos have next to no views now doesn’t mean all hope for them is lost, is gonna make this so much easier to keep going with than insta’s exhausting “the first 2 minutes are crucial” vibe 🥴
Thank you for being so authentic and helpful with your advice. I've decided to take the turn into being an artist on Youtube as a career and currently in the process of learning the business side of things which ain't easy. I wish the best to other talents who are pursuing this kind of career too <3
Gracias por tus consejos! Como artista plástica y audiovisual en youtube han sido útiles y valiosos, apoyo tu contenido 🙂
ive watched this video multiple times. i love it
Rewatching this video today and it gives me strength to keep on trying to be successful 🙂 Thank you for making all of this content.❤
Interesting tips! I've just started posting art-making videos weekly (only a few sketchbook tours before that as well as non-art related videos once in a while). For me, it's just for fun (not job-related), but I would like it if some more people watched. Even people I know IRL don't watch. I will try to use your tips to get some more viewers my way.
Wow, you have very successfully increased subs at this point! Great work and thank you for continuously sharing!
Thank you, for your helpful videos. ^^
I am not super sure, when I started, but it has ben a while already and only this year, (2022) I reached 50 subs. It is not a lot, but I am happy about it. Posting every week, is not really possible for me. Because I do animated content as well. I try to put something out once a month and that mostly works.^^
Just a quick question about audio and cameras: most of what I'm planning to do (with another YouTube channel) is mostly 3D stuff, would I really need a camera for that or would OBS Studio to capture the screen be enough? Also, with the audio, my laptop has a built-in camera but I also have a dynamic microphone that I got mainly for recording using a cassette recorder (I'm also a musician but I'm really planning for that to be audio only or integrated with some of my videos), would using either of those and using Audacity (the only audio editor that I truly trust) would be okay to start (probably have to record the audio over and over until my talking sounds clear enough to be able to understand)?
I'd like you to know that you give inspiration a lot of people which is so valuable. Your channel encouraged me to decide to share my art on social media 🙏
I really love you and your channel <3 I will be honest, you are inspiration and example for me that anyone, even I can make Youtube work :> I watch you since months, I remember when you had 5k subs and I was following your journey. You are amazing, your videos are super helpful ^^ Watching you gives me hope I can make art my full time job before I will be done with Master degree in arts [which I start in like 3 weeks!] I hope one day I will be as big youtuber as you and will be able say that I archived it mostly thanks to you
I can not believe that you only had 532 subs just over a year ago! Wow! I'm sure that there were people watching this wondering how you would know how to grow a channel at that point. Nobody is questioning that now! Congrats! You'll pass 100K subs probably tomorrow. You know how to do it!
your videos have inspired and given me the courage to start my own YouTube channel. I haven't posted on there much because life has been so chaotic, but your "100 video idea's" video (haha that sounds funny) has given me many ideas. ^-^ <3
I suspect that particular video took off more in that time due to the season- in October it starts getting colder and in December is when it was most popular, so winter time in the northern hemisphere… oil paints have a lot of fumes and in warm weather you can paint outdoors or have windows open but not so much when it’s freezing cold outside. If your audience is mainly North America or maybe some UK then makes sense.
It takes a lot to get started, but sticking with it and finding a rhythm, coming up with new ideas and really making a job out of them is something completely different. And then there are those who are just lucky.
Keep your fingers crossed for everyone who starts a youtube channel. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.
Anyway Great Video but how did you find people for support each other?
I'm so glad this video was recommended to me🥺
I've been posting on youtube for a few months now and the slow rate I've been growing at was so disheartening. But your videos are helping me out so much so I'm super grateful!!
I am about to start my artist YouTube journey and this video has been so valuable! Thank you!!
I know it takes patience. I have been uploading for about 3 years and I'm still slowly growing. It's hard work, but I'm willing to stick it out. It's really comforting that it takes bigger YouTubers just as long to get their channel going.
Tip: Whenever you feel upset about how low your sub count or view count is, just imagine however many subscribers/views you had are standing in the same room as you. 55 subs seems like not that much, but if you imagine them being in the same room as you, THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE.
your tips are inspiring thx!
I love that you mention Roberto Blake! His channel is amazing when it comes to using YouTube to build your freelance business and become your own boss. Your channel is also hitting those similar notes on the creative/art side, which is absolutely helpful! I appreciate people like you and Roberto for talking about the analytics and back-end side that I think a lot of people, even people who are super successful on YouTube, don't know super well.
I think you are a very knolegbile person you don't know the great deal of admiration I have for you. Kelsey, I pray to God that you have a lot greater growth than what you have right now God sees everything and I believe firmly that he blesses people like you who bless others. May the good Lord bless you., you deserve it.
Thank you Kelsey, for sharing! So cool to have seen you grow from the start, Im cheering for you🥰🥰 Ive just started my channel (name: Lene Fredriksen) and have joined a coaching program by the “think media” team. I am an art coach as well as an artist and I want to help people grow as artists through helping with mindset. Posted first video earlier today, yay! Thanks for your motivation!😘
Thanks so much Kelsey! Your content has been so helpful. I just started my art channel (Louann Sidon Art) ☺💖🎨
This video was very helpful. I’ve actually been on youtube for a long time. Some years have been more consistent than others. Your channel is motivating me to revive my channel and get back into a consistent work flow between art creation and video content. Would love if you could check me out.
I’m just starting out on my artist journey and I’ve been binging your videos 💙 thank you so much for all of these great tips.
Btw this is my channel if anyone is interested ☺️
Thank you! These are really good tips and reminders. I started a channel about a year ago but stopped posting. A lot because of outside life obligations, but also because I need more patience. I watched your video "Launching Your Art Career in 2022" and I'm in the first stage of just needing to make stuff. My brain however starts worrying about future steps and the whole process halts. So my new mantra is "just make stuff". I'm glad youtube recommended your videos to me.
I think it peaked because of the holidays. People researched for gift giving and those that received it researched how to use it.
I started a channel just a few months ago and I run two art based businesses and a third business. My channel is about juggling all three of those as a single mom and how I work within each of those businesses. I know I'm finding this video of yours late, but it was appreciated!
So surprised you live in AK! I stumbled across your channel totally by (algorithmic) "accident." I grew up in Anchorage 🥰
You can film with your iPhone! It depends on which iPhone you have.
This video is great! I started my Youtube journey a few months ago and I really needed this video. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your advice and experience!
9:01 you have over 40k subscribers now. Congratulations!
Hii Kelsey! Your channel is so informative and you telling us about the way you plan your channel is so inspiring~ I started my channel this year and feel glad that you can just make videos of what you are interested in at the time! I am also an artist but it is validating to hear that we can make videos about your life, and experiment freely! Looking forward to see your journey <3
I've just started out doing art stuff on Youtube (mostly resin dice) after trying social media and Twitch streaming for a year or so. Thanks for the tips! All your videos about behind the scenes stuff have been really inspiring. I think the biggest thing that's held me back is knowing my first videos aren't going to be very good, so it's very welcome to hear that I should just START.
I’ve been posting speedpaints and animations since I was in middle school. I’m about to turn 21. I worry those old videos are bad for professionalism and my traction on this platform but I don’t think I can leave the channel. My channel is a lot like a diary it holds my childhood art and a lot of memories.
Omg Kelsey you had 532 subs at this time and now you're at 32K!!! I would LOVE an update video on this 😊
Personally I love when people push their glasses up. Dare I say cool. I don’t know why. Lol
