Our first commercial to tackle the issue of low-level speeding shows the extraordinary difference driving just 10 km/h over the speed limit can have on a pedestrian.
The motion-controlled camera captures what happens to a body when hit by a car traveling at 70km/h over a breaking distance of 50 meters. Trauma surgeon, Dr.Richard Gilhome, reconstructs what happens to the human body when it’s hit by a car, something that he see’s all too often in his operating theatre.

There's only one thing wrong with this TAC ad, he's not using a mobile phone.
I felt more bad for the pizza
I was hit by a car while walking at a street corner. Thankfully he was going about 25mph. When he hit me, I broke my arm and cut open the back of my head. That required over 10 staples to close.
is this new gta gameplay?
I'm AMAZED by the fact that this was made in 1997! The first clip was an early viral video in the late 90's. I remember me and my friends were shocked believing it was a real video. Seeing it again now I'm really impressed. I had no idea they did it super slow motion too! Great camera work and seamless compositing, just bloody great! Still creepy!
Or maybe you could just not jaywalk
6 MPH
0:06 sh*t that scared me
That was some real convincing CGI, the image of the man folded like an omelette will be engraved in my memories.
Whoever made that shot deserves a freaking award. Incredible.
This ad scared me when I was young…..
Still can't believe Gary put his hand up for this ad, he sacrificed his own life to try and save others. RIP Gazza, well miss ya mate.
This is so sad
Looking both ways before crossing the road saves lives
luchemos por la vida
I get that the car seemed to be speeding, and going a slower speed could've prevented the accident or made the accident not as gruesome… Still another message is that the pedestrian needs to look for incoming traffic before crossing the street.
0:08 it's a Chevrolet celebrity!
6 MPH Saves Lives
That’s 45 Miles Per Hour And 165 Feet
slow motion is much better!
in Japan says "Driving 6.21mph less will save lives"
damn
Last time I looked up the advert data, this was so profound in 1998 this got a Gold Cannes Lion award under public service announcements. Not difficult to see why.
Somers Parade, Altona
Would had to have had pretty damn good breaks to stop at 60km/h with about one second (f that) to break to a stop.
What is that? Dummy or syndaver? Where in between?
Me dad terrified me with this when I was younger
I've got a motorcycle. It can do the same accidents as cars if you accelerate on busy roads.
Maybe a more constructive approach would be to educate people on not to cross roads without yielding right of way to the heavy lumps of metal flying by.
Mr. Aziz is gonna flip out now.
