The crash of us
It took my PC almost an hour to build the shaders, so 15 minutes ain't that bad dude 🙂
Brace yourself Luke. When you update your graphics drivers, those shaders will have to compile once more. Happens everytime you update your drivers.
by the time i compile shaders i would run of 2hr time limit for the refund.
Dude, it is not weird that the compilation takes 100% of your CPU, regardless of what CPU you have, it is actually what you want. If it weren't at 100%, you would be leaving performance on the table.
That it takes 15 minutes despite this, that is bad
15gb of vram, what the hell?
Game runs like crap on my pc. Textures not loading in. 10 min loading times to start the game and every few minutes a please wait sings which takes at least a minute to load. Terrible port.
is this a review for the game or the moneybags of your setup?
My 4090 is struggling at times on this game. Still love it because I never got to play it until now. how the load times I though it was just me.
How can you say it's not bad getting a 100 fps on one of the most expensive system of the planet?I mean it's kinda ridiculous and pointless imagining that the Game will be in a less expensive gig.
I think my PC has cordyceps🧻
The VRAM consumption is honestly the only problem. I ran the game on my budget gaming laptop with 3060. Shaders took about 45 minutes to finish. I didn’t mind doing something else while waiting but because it had to run the game the entire time, I had to put my adapter on top of a fan to keep it cool. And when I started the game, I had an excellent experience. No crashes, smooth gameplay. I only had very few, very brief moments of stutter. Easy to ignore. My settings are on DLSS with mostly high settings (and mix of medium and ultra, depending on the setting).
I was wondering the same, like why was I lucky when everyone else had such an abysmal time? After watching this video, it makes perfect sense that most people were playing the game before shaders were done. Because if anyone should have a hard time running the game, it would be me. I have a $500 asus rog strix laptop with specs that don’t even meet the recommended lol. But when it ran as nearly as good as PS5 quality which I also have, I was amazed with my laptop.
But yeah, the VRAM consumption is ridiculous. It takes up 118% for me and that’s what NVIDIA recommended to me for an optimized experience. It shouldn’t be the case, I don’t want to overpower the laptop like that for long play periods. I’d like to bring that down to less than 100% for the PC health’s sake. Otherwise the fans are so loud that I can’t hear the damn game at full volume and need headphones to hear. So hope they fix that. But I’m wondering how everyone else’s experience was since many of the steam reviews aren’t specific enough
I think that's not for my gtx 970
It's not complicated at all, it's rather simple. The port is awful.
It took me about an hour to get to about 25% and I never saw the End of it because the Game basically crashed my PC shortly after that. I couldnt even open the Calculator even after closing the game…
Not sure NVMe speeds matter much on PC unless Direct Storage is applied to the game to match console throughput?
they probably rushed the final couple of months of development and optimization to release sooner as to capitalize of the hype and success of the last of us show
anyone else notice there are far less npc's running around? and when joel is kicking out the window of the car it no longer has the zombie clawing at the guy in the car across
I was running it dlss quality mode 3840×1600 with settings all on high with a few on ultra and never saw a dip below 60. Vram hovered around 9-9.5gb on my 3080 10gb/ 5800x3D system. Ram usage was quite high at like 20gb though.
Of course it runs well for you and the 11 other people that own a RTX 4090, coming here with Nasa bulldozers it will run great, unfortunately it seems this game was optimized for those brute force brutalists.
I'd be willing to bet money the shader compilation is so slow because they're trying to break the Steam refund policy.
Looks great, but ran my i9 12900k at 100% too not even the spiderman port did that

Walks towards doors
"Look at the reflection in the glass"
"JEPUPPY" 🤔🐕
it comes down to VRAM, you have 24GB of it so you aren't going to experience the crashes as people on an 8GB and even 10GB gpus are experiencing
Took me and hour for 30 mins for shaders, then after starting the game, it took 10 minutes for the loading circle to get a quarter of the way around before i turned off the pc because id rather wait another month for them to fix this shit
Viewer's Note: I hate you
Shaders should NOT compile during gameplay, their complaints are very much warranted.
I did not play the game until the shaders loaded!! Because why would you, plus I figured that’s the problem people were having!!
And yet still have just as much problems as everyone else!! I had to reload the game 3 times because the shader loading was hanging!! But got it done!!
Now it crashes every 20 minutes and loads every 3 to 5 minutes for 1-3 minutes every time!!
So its definitely not a shader problem on my end!!
Legacy of thieves runs fine!! 🤷♂️

RX580(2018) have 4350 -3dMark compared to
R9 FURY(2015) having 5100 -3dMark and
RTX 4080(2022) having 28110 -3dmark.!!!
I thing that ppl need to meet the expectation with their HW 4000 points in 3dMark allow You in 2023 to play games on LOW and you will be glad if You keep 30fps.
BTW I play Cyberpunk on FURY 60fps, but on midd settings so it also depend on games.
