This is an comparison video about two of the most popular browsers Microsoft Edge vs Google Chrome. Google chrome was everyone’s browser for a long time but it seems like Microsoft Edge is coming up to the game. In this video I’m going to test their benchmark scores, website loading speeds for several websites, and ram usage for 2022. Is Microsoft Edge better than Chrome? Let’s find out.

MICROSOFT EDGE
Can you compare Edge vs Yandex Browser.Thanks.
I love edge I would never go back to google chrome because edge is faster
👍👍
I'm really starting to forget that chrome logo, in windows 10 recent updates n 11 I think edge is perfect especially for developers. There is a lot of tools and debugging stuff also. It's very easy on resources which I find very useful since I have many many apps n services running
Is there a difference of functionality between Chrome and Edge because Chrome is entirely dependant on ads? I know there are ad blockers but I am talking about every Chrome extension is optimized for the inclusion of some form of ads else google wouldn't make any money.
Edge is obviously getting better and better. For a speed test, I think it also depends on the host's servers too.
3:18 Averages:
Edge: 7,23
Chrome: 6,42
I recently Completely switched from chrome to edge on both my phone nad pc and … I gotta say edge is .. a bit faster
chrome just feels heavy and slow compared to edge if u don't have much ram and ssd
How about Brave?
Google Chrome > Microsoft Edge. Full stop.
I like edge
I already using edge instead of chrome
I used Edge for over a year. It was good until Microsoft started REALLY pushing Bing, while seemingly trying to break Google search as a preference. I'd literally be on google, search for something, and get a Bing result. The moment they started pulling that shit, I switched entirely back to Chrome. Haven't had any issues since.
Here's my take, in some pages with interactive feature (Duolingo for example), Edge often freeze and it took me several minutes before it moves again. Edge gives me unknown error for Netflix. Edge consumes more battery drain in my system. All these does not really make Edge my favorite. It starts cold and after a week of usage, still showing those flaws. While Chrome with history over 2 years of usage, shown no issue at all. Both are at their latest updates (103.*** currently). Edge winner = advertisement perhaps…
I both use chrome on my PC and phone because my computing teacher said that the home screen and function is better. in edge and its Microsoft store can't use google apps
chrome takes 2min. to open in my desktop
I began using Microsoft Edge when I had to completely reset my old pc, and thought I might as well try using the default browser, and after using Edge for about 2 years, I have to say that it's really hard to feel any difference, they're very similar imo, and I'm not having any issues with one that I wouldn't have with the other, also I'm generally just not having any issues so that's nice.
I use Edge. Edge's scores: 180
Chrome: 170
It's the time to switch to Edge.
Chrome keeps hogging my RAM (up to 2gb) even though I explicitly disabled background running. I even disabled start up for Chrome, the fucker stills shows up in my task manager and using up my laptop's precious RAM. I uninstalled it and never have my PC ran faster
That was a great video thank you
pc up to 8gb = edge
else = chrome
Would Edge run better on Windows 11? or same as on windows 10.
Let's not forget your system specifications play a part too and also your broadband speed.
If you're sitting with a high-end PC worth £2000 on gigabit internet, your Edge or Chrome is going to be faster in most aspects compared to someone with the exact same system in every way but only 300Mb internet.
Processor, RAM type and speed, etc etc all matters too so if you're sitting using a potato PC with slower internet connection, you can't complain about browsers being slow. Time to upgrade. xD
I've switched to Edge, because unlike most people, I'm not stuck with stereotypes from 2010… However, for a long time Chrome, Edge's front page can e a bit annoying before you customize it, and the kind of users that already use Chrome, won't switch to Edge if all that MSN crap is forced in their face once they switch. The daily background/video on the start-page is pretty cool/nice though, but they should keep it clean/simple and leave it at that. MS should also for their own good let everyone choose their search engine when switching to Edge as well, because having to go deep into settings to get google as default is yet another thing that keeps people away from Edge, much more so than it draws people to bing (with the exception of old people who barely know how to use computers maybe). But all in all, it's in actuality a better browser for most people. Better RAM usage and better video playback, a nicer GUI (With the Mica effect enabled, but Idk if it is by default even any more), and a couple of extra-features over chrome here and there that can be usefull as well.
Conclusion: use Firefox 🙂
first test: Microsoft 1 point / Google 0 points
second test: Microsoft 2 Points / Google 0 points
third test: Microsoft 3 Points / Google 0 points
fourth test: Microsoft 4 points / Google 0 points
i wanted to use google chrome at first but after i saw this, i wanted to keep using Microsoft edge …
but i will still use google chrome
I think the site you used to test the points had a false result imao and also for windows chrome uses more bites but I opened a few ten tabs on the chrome so that might have meant Microsoft is cheating and detected it’s chrome so it said wayyy higher than Microsoft edge just use a device made by none of the competetors to make sure it is fair
I have switched to Edge since 2022
Not only edge is faster and more fluid but it also have many more features than chrome, also the vertical tabs and the sidebar integration is very nice, te also have screen captures, natural voices for reading and also the pdf reader is simply the best, edge even has an integrated math input tool
always microsoft edge because I have noticed that edge less power as compared to chrome in my laptop
