We’re going to create a website using Bluehost. Bluehost is the number one web-hosting company recommended by WordPress official website. I have personally used other popular web-hosting companies like Siteground but I don’t recommend it(this is just my personal opinion).
In this tutorial, I amuse you have now knowledge about WordPress and programming. So i try my best to explain the process as easy as possible. Make sure not to miss any step and don’t skip any part. Because every step is related to the previous step.
Here are the steps to create your website for beginners from scratch.
Step 1: Select a domain name.
A domain name is the name of your website and once you use Bluehost you will get the first year of your domain name for FREE.
Step 2: Get Hosting
Web hosting is the place where your files will be stored, this will be the only cost of this tutorial. I also show you how you can get the hosting at the cheapest price.
Step 3: Installing WordPress
WordPress is an open-source tool that helps you build your site without knowing anything about programming or coding. Bluehost has even made the process easier to install WordPress automatically with a one-click install. So you will have WordPress automatically.
After the WordPress Installation is completed, you’ll then be taken to your WordPress Dashboard.
You can check if your website is live or not by going to your domain name. If it is live you will see the default WordPress theme.
To visit your WordPress Dashboard again, you can just type yoursite.com/login.
Step 4: Adding a Theme
The theme is the look of your website, the one that I used in this video is called Astra which is a FREE theme. But if you would like to get Premium Version you can get if through this link which I think you will it a bit cheaper:
To install the theme, go to the theme section and search for Astra. To make the process even easier you need to install a plugin that comes with this theme, which is also called Astra. To install the plugin go to the plugins sections and search for Astra. After install and activate the plugin go to the see library to see all the pre-built themes that you can use for your website.
The themes with the agency logo are premium so you need to pay to use them but I use a FREE theme for this video. If you want plain and lightweight them feel free to search for “Digital Agency” which is a pretty lightweight theme.
Step 5: Editing the Content
The last step is to edit the page that is imported. Simply go to the page you want to edit and click ‘Elementor.’ This is to take you to the editing section. To edit any text just select the text you want and type in. This is how you can edit the content of the page.
To edit the header or footer simply click customize. Once you do that you can see a blue icon next to the item you would like to change, click on that blue pencil and you will be able to start changing the header or footer.
for some themes, you may not see the blue icon(pencil) in this case it means those functionalities are locked for premium users only. If you want to get the premium theme you can get it though
this link:
If you don’t want to get a premium version, simply change the theme to another theme that allows you to change the footer. I know the theme called “digital agency” is pretty flexible to make your changes. Just a heads up, if you are changing your theme make sure to check the box that says “Delete Previously imported Site” to get rid of the previous theme before installing the new one.
