80$ FOR A GIGABIT INTERNET? I know that yall living in USA, everything's expensive but i'm playing like 7$ per month for a stable gigabit internet, that works, yes.
Ok been into tech and all that and this cleared it all up for me. For some reason i thought my plan said 100 MBs not Mbs. So thats why i get 12.5 MBs from steam downloads.
And then there is Windows which uses kibi-, -mebi, -gibi bytes to display storage volumes. These should be labeled KiB, MiB and GiB, but Microsoft for some reason decided to label them KB, MB and GB. What's the difference? Gigabyte is 10^9 bytes and Gibibyte is 1024^3 bytes. Ever wondered why Windows displays, say, a 500 gigabyte drive as 465 GB drive? No, it's not because the drive manufacturer scammed you. Open drive properties and you'll see that it indeed does have around 500 000 000 000 bytes. 500e9 / 1e9 = 500 gigabytes. 500e9 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 465.66 gibibytes.
this is very annoying actually. although I know the difference. having to do a switch in my head when I look at transfer rates should not be necessary. som apps also use mibibytes and mibibits. which furthers the confusion.
The difference in how there spelled its the capitalization of the b
Day 4 of asking for pc (budget)
I have a gb speed and I get like 300 mb/s speed downloading stuff
Me my internet speed is 45kb/s
So if my internet is 1Gbps, its speed is actually 125 MB?
I am baffled that people would not know this. I would expect this to be taught at an early age in the modern world.
Why is that wifi so expensive.
Damn I usually spend 20€/month for my 5 gigabit, those prices are crazy
I have 2mb per second so i get 250kb per second?
I have 5 gigabit speeds…
i have 500 Mb/s
I download games on steam at 80-95 mb per second idk what my internet speed is because my dad buys it but it must pretty high ig
Saw a sign for 7 gig internet the other day on a billboard. Can't imagine 825 MB/sec. BO6 is 120 GB, no problem, give me 3 minutes. I'll download it.

LOL i have nulti gig lol around 300MB or 2.5gb down
But still 18.5 per sec is insanely fast,it took me 4sec to do that
Mb is 1/8th MB
To the ordinary person: Understood…
To le me … the most glamorous idiot you can find : CUNFOOSON
In italy for 1gb we pay most of the time 19 or 24 euros
My avg. download is 960 Mb/s
On steam u can configure settings to show the download speed in Mb/s

The mf'ers who get the speed they pay for
TLDR: 8 bits = 1 byte
so that means when you have 1gb internet you only download with 100mb/s
For storage, you use Byte such as 320 MB file size.
When transferring the file, you use Bit such as 150 Mb/s.
1 Byte == 8 Bit.
So, if the file size is 1000 MB, you need 8000 Mb/s internet speed to download it in ONE second.
i guess i have 2 megabites
Me thinking wtf is Kb/s then
I have a ryzen 5 3500x and à rx 6600 , ça i buy a ryzen 7 5800x3D? Or Will or bottleneck with my gpu?
Didn’t help at all
dirt cheap internet in india cheapest pack of my provider is 150 MBps mot Mbps . yes i get 150 MBps for aound 10 – 15 us dollars
On Steam, you can change your download speed between bytes and bits
My internet speed is 20 mbps
And when I download games using idm, download speed shows 2.5 mbps max speed.
the image at the beginning should be the exact opposite, 150 MB/s is far superior
And in french bytes are called octets so you cant mess them up lol

Mb/s=mbps / 8
