In this GIMP 2.10 tutorial, I show you how to design a flat web icon for use on websites (for web designers) or anywhere you wish to use an icon! I’ll show you how to make the icon design from scratch, including designing the circle, phone, and shadow. I’ll also show you how to be able to create additional colors, and how to export the icon with or without a background with optimal settings for the web.
This tutorial is for beginners but is great for all skill levels. I use GIMP 2.10.0-RC1 (Release Candidate 1) for this tutorial, but you can follow along with older version of GIMP (i.e. GIMP 2.8) or with newer version of GIMP.

awesome tutorial. Thanks
Thank you for the helpful tutorial
Hi. Thanks. Um, since you go so fast I guess you assume that we already have Gimp experience? I have none so I guess I'll need to watch some tutorial videos to catch up. Alot of things in Gimp seem counter intuitive to me. But wondering why you save this as a PNG file when the whole point, I thought, was to make an ICO file? I could use anything to generate a PNG. Inkscape, Krita, Xara, even MS Paint.
Yo this is helpful af
Can you do an Icon with a costumer symbol ( like a few Persons in a Circle)

If you really want to teach people you should slow down your speaking.
Could you do a video on creating spotlights? Looking to combine the logo video you done with black "rays" from a stage light. Or even just a general lighting video update?
Thank you so much for making it instantly 😇 so nice of you 😌 Helps a lot 😁🙏🏽
this is an excellent tutorial 😉 though personally I'd probably use inkscape or krita as they can output svg as well as png's for icons. Vector format is important now with modern hi-res screens.
