A look at BenQ PV270 | 2K Hardware Calibrate Video Display Review!
Every now and then it is always good to look back and appreciate what have come before. In this case I have been the launch ambassador for all of BenQ SW Photographer Hardware Calibrated display. And part of this time BenQ have a companion display line for video work called the PV line, PV for Pro Video. I have not had a chance to review this display or played with it but I have always heard that this was at one point BenQ flagship pro displays. Well now I have got a refurbished one in for review and in this video, I will do just that. A few things to note is that currently the PV is discontinued and the direct replacement for this model is the SW270C which uses the same panel on the inside but with better technology and added modern electronics and connections.
A few things to note about the PV270 or things that I find impressive is the following.
1. This panel has display uniformity feature that predates the SW line. This feature is now present in the SW270C and SW321C.
2. I love the touch capacitive buttons on the display.
Otherwise please watch this review to find out more.

Hi, I got this monitor. But it seems like the footage on that screen is always darker compare to other monitors in a way that it sincerely unusable even when I use 100% brightness. Is there something I’m missing? Thanks
Thank You
Thank you for these requested review from earlier, its great both these video and comparison videos with SW series! Keep up the good work 🙂
Do you have any info or can you ask BenQ will they plan to update PV270 with newer model like SW270c is to SW2700pt, or the merged PV series with SW and have no plans for more PV models?
Great video as always! One thing keeps bugging me and I cannot find enough information from online is the 72hz setting which got me super excited about this monitor. Is it possible to set up the monitor to use 72hz refresh "natively" from windows for different applications, or is it only tied to an external hdmi device outputting 24p and then it displays the 72hz? Like a video camera or equilevant device? And is it tied down to only 1080p rather than using 2k or 4k/24p?
your thoughts on PV3200PT? And Next generation, when its expected, any idea? for India Location
I have a BenQ SW series monitor and I would like to know what is the point of calibrating to Adobe RGB when my photos on the web and most printers use sRGB? Plus if I calibrate my monitor for Adobe RGB & then put on the web , it looks washed out, whereas if I had edited in sRGB, I could have adjusted the saturation.
Can this monitor (also SW 2710) be calibrated to DCI-P3 color gamut?
Thank you as always Art for the review. We can still get the PV270 in our region though at a $100 premium over the SW270C which is sold out here at the moment. Good to know the difference. BenQ offers good value for money especially when you compare to more expensive brands like the Eizo. Again thanks for the review!
