Does the computer have to be logged in under your specific user and in lock mode? If someone else logged in and then logs out, will you still be able to gain access to the computer or will that ruin your connection? I seem to be having a problem with my Google remote and I think it’s because someone keeps logging in on my computer while on my way. I love to get to the bottom of it so I don’t have to drive an extra hour

The primary reasons for using RDP over VNC based alternatives is performance, seamlessness, and using Windows account/Active Directory accounts. VNC/TeamViewer is a good for remote session outside of your network connecting to non-Windows hosts.

Not 1 mention of VNC in either the video, nor the comments. Also, there are not only Mac and Linux RDC clients, but there are solutions for using RDC to connect to a Linux machine, like xRDP.
U can run rdp with home versions with a simple hack.
RDP over a remote desktop gateway is the best solution. Secure, fast and convenient.
