In this video, I am working a young gaited horse on speed control. The horse is fast and wanting to speed up. I am teaching her to slow down and to maintain the speed that I put it in.

I have a question. I've got a 15 year old gaited mare that REALLY does not want to walk at all under saddle (or when round penning for that matter). She will stand relaxed, but any time I ask for a soft walk. A soft cue to go always results in a high energy gait. I have been turning tight circles until she starts to walk and then releasing, but I have not seen much progress. Any tips on how to help her relax/slow down would be great. She is very sensitive and will turn off my seat alone, and I am trying very hard to develop softness in the reins so that she does not lean on the bit.
I got a question but don't want to waste your time just would like to get little better understanding but know you busy and love videos Im trying to imply them to our animals but I was tought a little differently but not much progress I like your way but harder to train myself than the horse 🤣👍👍
🙋♀️Hi Tim, love your videos! I learn a lot from them as I am also a "later in life" rider!😉😁🤷♀️🤣 I ordered a "Slick Easy"…I hope Amazon gives you your proper credit! Hope you have a Great Day! 🐄Laurie
Hi what is gated horse?
I love the work you have done.
Good morning
When you checked her hooves, did you see any issues with the rear right?
If you look at the video at first during walk, she is popping that hip up.
Not sure you felt a difference in the saddle.
Beautiful horse and lots of potential.
She is SPEED! What a cute mare. Seeing your patience with her is amazing. I have seen soo many riders lose their patience with a horse going fast and just pulling their face off making those issues down the road with the bit.
