Despite being born in 2002, I've always been drawn to the nostalgic charm and timeless elegance of classic and retro style websites. There's something undeniably captivating about their simplicity and aesthetic.
this inspired me to create my own retro website ♥
I've made a company website with this software in 1999. It was one of the reasons I started to dislike Microsoft software, and turned to Linux. I've never looked back, and stil love Linux.
90's WordPress
Where did you find the retro gifs?
NO! NOT COMIC SANS! GOD-NO-PLEASE-FOR-THE-LOVE-OF-ALL-THATS-GOOD-IN-THE-WORLD!!!
I have a question, how do you get the website on localhost?
Say it with me: gif. Guh-gih-gif.
It's *g*raphics interchange format.
Not peanut butter.
I built my high schools first website on Frontpage 98 and used it through 2000 when I graduated.
looking back, frontpage was actually a great piece of software.
i spent my time loading downloaded websites into frontpage express, changing things and going to the source tab to see what changed and learned html that way.
fond memories.
Bro i installed frontpage 98 and didnt get the buttons
Nice Discord button 😂 10:36
Fantastic! I used it for making websites as I've never been a programmer 🙂 Basically – I crate (draw) website in Photoshop, add slices (to all parts, buttons etc), export as html+pics and finish index.htm in FrontPage 🙂 Today the best replacement for me (as I am in 90's!) is Elementor for WordPress! 🙂 (check my deetronic site)
These were the days.
Thank you for bringing back old memories
I’m amazed you did this entire video without a segue to a square space ad. Respect 🫡
My angelfire website from 98’ is still up and running. Don’t forget the page counter at the bottom! 😂
Fun Fact: Microsoft Word also use HTML like the old style WYSIWYG before to write Static Website. But don't read the source code if you are a web developer.
Where are the animated snowlfakes and the midi?
what are jiffs ?? kinda weird how he kept saying jiffs while looking at GIFs
my favorite thing to do with frontpage was make a really cool desktop with links and stuff and frontpage can be set as your desktop so you could have html scripts running on the desktop
visit hi5
2:10 which is every good web designer
I had to .25x speed to catch it
Man keeps calling a Gif a Jif LOL
Hey michael! great video! can you send me a image of what u put? on your 90's website? it looks very interesting!
Maaan i miss old web design
lol I miss this version of the internet. Simple and clean
Danke!
I learned HTML on frontpage by reverse engineering the websites. What a wonderful self education days were those!
Wow, trip down memorylane! Although both Frontpage and even Dreamweaver could make a "Hello World" page into a 500kb version with all kind of codes in the background. I think I also used plain notepad but also CoffeeCup and other more simple editors. Can't recall the names.
