Hello Kelsey, I hope you will answer my query.
I have an art channel in which I only draw and paint. I am struggling to get subscribers and views. My videos just tank. I think YT has stopped recommending my videos because they're not getting traction.
So how do I make the thumbnail standout when it just has a picture of my final painting or one in progress. I used to add text and some guy at VidIQ said, too much text on thumbnail and to let the painting speak for itself. I have and it hasn't worked.
Your advice about working on the description with keywords etc sounds very helpful. Will it work if I redid the descriptions on some of my previous videos. Would YT begin to treat them differently and start suggesting them?
One thing I would like to draw your attention to is that I installed the free version of tubebuddy but it only allowed me to do a keyword search once. After that, every time I tried yo do it for another video it asked for payment. So I dont think you can totally do that with the free version.

The tube buddy is weird because it requires you to allow them access to not only manage your account but be able to delete, edit videos, edit titles, delete comments… I don’t recommend handing over that kind of control to a 3rd party.
