TikTok CEO Shou Chew dives into how the trend-setting video app and cultural phenomenon works — from what distinguishes its algorithm and drives virality to the challenges of content moderation and digital addiction. In a wide-ranging conversation with head of TED Chris Anderson, he tells stories about the TikTok creators he loves and digs into thorny issues like data privacy and government manipulation — as well as speaking personally about his commitment to inspiring creativity and building community.

such an articulate and charismatic leader
A true gentleman.
I really appreciate the effects Chow has put on this matter and I can see the passion and the motivation he is presenting and the honesty image he has tried to build up. It must be a very tensed and suffocating situation at which he has been facing since the hearing. But to be honest, I still don't see any critical evidence or logically rigorous points that can really persuade and to prove his points against the doubts and questions. It's far not enough to comfort and assure the group of people with different concerns. Great CEO, barely qualified team in strategies. I think his team is not doing their job well enough to support him, they should come up with ideas and expresssions much better than this. Anyways, wish him and his team good luck on this matter.
Shou Chew is a pro, very reasonable and persuasive. A bit uptight though–never misses a chance to mention the "vision." At 31:28 key and clever warning about balkanizing the internet. – But then at 35:11…very odd moment when Chew won't rule out the possibility Chinese government could use TikTok to interfere in a US election. Nor does he take the softball follow-up from Ted asking Chew to vouch, on a personal level, that he wouldn't want to be CEO if that was happening. Sounds like the lawyers said cover your behind. Chew is a good guy though, just playing the game.
❤❤❤
👍👍👍
He doesn’t understand the hidden agenda
No offense but i see clearly Tiktok is more usuable platform and even Youtube than Facebook, you will learn a lot from this two platform than Facebook
He is telling lies.
He knows how TikTok is used as a propaganda tool. He keeps say he is innocent and not aware of CCP’s crimes.
Hey everyone! Here's to hoping we all achieve our dreams and make it big someday. Sending good vibes, blessings, and well wishes to each and every one of you. May success, good health, and happiness be our constant companions!❤
Anderson was very annoying at the end with the way he handled the question about Chinese interference in the election
Shou Chew is the man. He’s so good at dealing with people who are just salivating for a “gotcha”
Exceptional interview!
The host asked him to talk a bit about himself. But he jumped right into TikTok
I love the idea of having an entertainment source knows what I like, but then with Tiktok community guideline, does it really work though. I create 4 new account with fake mail, and the first thing I instantly get suggested is dancing girl with quite sensitive clothing or this stupid trend of putting ice cream on the ground and the taste it (funny they said). What's Chew policy on preventing spreading stupidity labeled as funny. I wish they would put more effort into this. I understand and completely agree with Chow ideology but then the reality rather disappointing
I'm appalled by the advertisement scamming going on on Tik Tok.
Entrepreneur, Rubbery from Oxford .Think before many speak on public. Romeo & Juliet qualified this guy Thai G .

Very charismatic and a good public speaker. Still his product is doing so much damage to our society. Doesn't change anything. He's just good at selling it.
I will insert a challengge from yr thought..
This is nauseating. The argument that TikTok grants people the ability to find their community neglects the fact that this process alienates people from their peers. This is not new. This is how Facebook basically triumphed over democracy. People worry about climate change and nuclear war but this, this is what will destroy us before those even become a problem. We are headed towards the precipice.
Adults always copy what the kids are doing then try to ban them off the platform and use it to make money then it gets destroyed.
the west is mad because they are not controlling this platform it’s that simple.
Proud to be Singaporean 🇸🇬
I don't smell peopl problem ok that ther choice to buy ther picture on ticktock so wat problem ?
when he said "speaking privately" in front of hundreds of ppl…
CEO is keeping focus regardless what is thrown at him
A lot of these questions are questions THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO PARENTS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION not Social Media. Why is USA so concerning. They kept blaming other people for things that they did to themselves. Are you that incapable and underdeveloped as a human being?
Lets see if they survive the EU's new tech company regulations
CCP controls tik tok so they control this guy. Get rid of tik tok if you use it.
Some sexual provocative content was allowed in Tik Tok, when I reported said notthings violated to the guidelines 😂😂
wonderful talk
this was much better than the fake ted interview (congress)
so confusing on the interviewer on way question being asked.
he was just being exactly like when he was at the public congressional hearing, but just more chance and time to speak.
never answer your question straight, deflecting many questions and stating something else that makes him or his company look good. he is trained to speak like this, brainless.
what a waste of 30mins watching
It should be mandatory for every single US Congressmen/women to watch this
❤I love you too ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤
Love this handsome and smart CEO.
A platform for entertainment/time wasting for one side (audience) and for making an income for the other side (creators). Without having to pay intermediary fees like in the past (TV companies, artistic promoters, etc). Therefore, a win-win for creators/artists in general.
nice🤔
The app is trash.
All this talk fall flat in front of CCP & Xi😅🤚🏿
Brilliant………………………………………………………………………………………………!
Huge respect for this man…………………………………………………………………..!
This gets very interested after 15 minutes.
He clearly a smart guy for sure
