A quick comparison to see the speed differences between Windows 10 and some of the bug Linux distributions. Ubuntu and Manjaro are two great distributions and the go-to for many people. I went with the flagship desktop environments for each of these Linux distributions making this a comparison of #XFCE and #GNOME.

thanks for this content. enjoyed alot!
Window can do better than that.
3:40 I don't know what they did but the boot time on win 11 is so much faster than on win 10
Extra lag using emulators for running Windows games on Ubuntu probably. I just made a dual install because the Windows installation takes forever just to open a web page. The Ubuntu installation on the very same computer goes much faster. When idling, the Windows installation is completely busy doing seemingly nothing. I will use Ubuntu with the emulator WineHQ and app for gaming PlayOnLinux on top of Wine and compare.
We have found that the customized Ubuntu is running about twice as fast as windows. It will depend a little on compatible hardware. Either way we have made our choice here with Linux, based on technology that we were not going to change just because Windows 11 upgrade demanded it.
I had switch from windows 10 to Ubuntu and I am very happy.
All software are working very fast and responsive.
Which OS is best for i3 -3rd gen. My laptop fan is always ON, with continuous spinning sound
Windows might show desktop first in a boot up comparison, but it is still unusable for a good half minute or two before one can start using it. Ubuntu is usable as soon as the desktop appears
is your pc a gaming pc or workstation pc?
Window's is faster to boot, slower in performance because of boatware, spyware and lots of virusesesesesesesesesss
Test them the same way after a year or two of updates for each. Windows will crawl to a stop while the distros will keep on chugging as if never updated.
i think you forgot to turn off fast startup, this is bascially windows cheating as it saves some on the memory of the kernel to page file even if you shut it down and so its technically weird middleground of hibernation/sleep but most of the stuff is loaded at boot afaik but anyway great tesr
manjaro won
Run it again after two years of heavy use of all three, then tell me.
Thanks for the video
I have started using linux as a change from windows but it always amuses me that whenever linux distro beats windows in any test it better but if windows beats it there is always a "reason" behind it!!
Saving the best for last? LOL guess what reboot is not the thing i want to do on my machine.
I am using Ubuntu 20.04.
I am new Linux OS using.
I love how people are sitting here trashing on windows even though it did good, I have Mac, Win 10 and Manjaro XFCE on my laptop and in my opinion all OS’s are good and bad in their own ways so it doesn’t matter for me
Why do you pronounce Ubuntu as "Abantu"? This is not an Englush word, so the letter U should be pronounced as in practically each language of the world except for English, French and Dutch.
It's better to divide 3 OS in your PC like TechHut is doing, or is he just using a Virtual Machine?
USB file transfer speed is tricked by Ubuntu, it shows as complete but it will end to transfer in background.
Try to eject the USB and it'll say you it's in use.
bro my hdd was heating on windows then i installed un=buntu 20.04 but still my hdd is heating but my data lost because i installed ubuntu now how to get back the data
no improvement worst ubuntu i have i5 8300h gtx 1050ti
Those boot times are quite slow. All my systems boot in 5-7 seconds, except for the Windows machines..which come in above 15 secs. They all run with SSD's.
Thank you!
