In this highly unscientific but fun to watch test I pitted Firefox, Chrome, Opera 10.53, Rekonq & Midori against one another to see which was the fastest.
I chose to test was cobrastarship.com simply because it is one of the slowest sites to load in any browser I try on Ubuntu – sadly not every browser could even manage to load it without choking!

rekonq 0.8.51 with qtwebkit 4.2.2 is faster than chrome now!

Did you any blockers?
If that's the case it means Opera ended up slowed down to to lack of ad blocker for Opera back when this was made.
@librano It crashes WAY too often for me, chrome/chromium, fo sho.
